weeks 6-7

In the last two weeks our device went through a lot of changes.

After consulting “mentors” and hearing their opinions and review on our “faders device” our product has changed its concept and visual looks.

• FADERS OUT –

A good design has to be related in some way to the environment it is designated to take place “the faders metaphor “ doesn’t seem to contribute to the dinner space.

• DINNER IS MORE THEN FOOD

Our agenda is that “the family dinner time” should be more than devouring stakes and raviolis. It is a significate time with the people we care about the most and we should use this time to work on our relationships within the family .

• COMMUNICATION IS MORE THEN AN EXCHANGE OF WORDS

Sometime it seems as if conversations around the table are just a collection of words lacking substence. One of our chalnges is to bring back “the stimulating” factor in our conversations wich is the desire to interact - listen to each other learn from each other say what we feel simply act human.

While we were listing to the mentors guidelines we came to the conclusion that we just cant “run away” from technology and in our case from our smartphones.

Since we are familiar with our potential “users” profile and their behavior we know that even at interpersonal communication environment we often reach out for our phone to search for content and information.

Smartphones do distract us a lot and often it harms our face to face conversations

But at the same time it is an access to knowledge and vital information that can enrich our intellectual world.

POURING INFORMATION

We decided to use smartphones within the family dinner in order to create an interactive dynamic around the table. Interesting conversations within the family members on weekly bases will help building a strong connection in the group..

A device that is based on siri robot that helps the family at dinner to manage their conversation by helping them find information and content and displaying it to them all together.

We believe that plugging all the smartphones of the family members will put the distractions a side and help build a living conversation.

We thought the “robot” could be designed a “jug” or a bottle, something that contains information and that we can profoundly “pour” information to each other’s cups
